Until yesterday, a pavilion designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas for the private Naomi Milgrom Foundation was accessible in Melbourne, Australia. Immediately after, the author of the fifth pavilion was announced, becoming architect Carme Pinós. This is the first opportunity for her experienced Barcelona studio to realize a public building on the Australian continent. This small object regularly becomes a cultural center for all of Melbourne. The design of the pavilion will be unveiled during the spring and will open to the public for free on October 8, 2018.
Carme Pinós has been running her own studio since 1991, which she founded in Barcelona after many years of collaboration with Enric Miralles. In 2011, she received honorary membership in the American AIA and in 2013 in the British RIBA. In 2013, she was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi medal. In 2016, she received the Richard J. Neutra medal and the Berkeley-Rupp prize.

“It is my honour and pleasure to have this opportunity to design a new pavilion for the Naomi Milgrom Foundation. It is a great responsibility to create a unique place in this special park with views over Melbourne—a city to which I have deep attachments. I am inspired by the fact that this new project will become a cultural destination for the city.”
