The Audemars Piguet watch museum by B.I.G. will open on Thursday

Zurich – The Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet will open its new museum this week, attracting visitors with its unusual spiral architecture and the opportunity to watch watchmakers at work. The museum will be open to visitors starting Thursday. The company originally planned to open it in April, but the pandemic forced a delay.

"I don't think there are many museums where you can see people working on very complicated watches," said company head Francois-Henry Bennahmias to Reuters.

The new museum, designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, is located near the company's headquarters in the Swiss village of Le Brassus. Visitors will be able to learn about the history of the Swiss watchmaking industry and view a number of famous Audemars Piguet watches.

"Over the last four to five years, we have acquired many watches for the museum," Bennahmias stated. However, he declined to specify how much the company invested in these acquisitions.
