'Terrieros' is an artificially created word and name for a group of six pavilions designed for this year's art biennial in the Brazilian metropolis of São Paulo. The curators of the 29th biennial, held since 1951, are Moacir dos Anjos and Agnaldo Farias. The exhibition runs from the end of September until December 12, 2010, at the Parque do Ibirapuera complex designed by Oscar Niemeyer and Hélio Uchôa. The motto of this year's exhibition “There is always a cup of sea to sail in” addresses the connection between art and politics. One of the six 'Terrieros' was also created by the Rotterdam office UN Studio, whose spatial sculpture 'Youturn' resembles a snail shell. Inside the circular pavilion unfolds an amphitheater with a central stage, tiered seating, and dynamically sloping walls.
