Brno - Brno will likely be looking for a new director for the Office of the Architect of the City of Brno. Councilor for urban planning Petr Bořecký (ANO) said this to reporters today. At the end of the year, the term of Michal Sedláček, who was at the beginning of the office's operations after its re-establishment in 2016, will expire. Sedláček wrote to ČTK that he cannot comment on the matter yet.

Bořecký stated that projects related to the relocation of the main train station are being transferred from the office to the city company Brněnské komunikace (BKOM). "Mr. Sedláček expressed the opinion that he would like to continue in the management of this part, so it is a matter of potentially transitioning under BKOM. How it ultimately turns out, I do not know. We will know it this week," Bořecký said.

Sedláček unsuccessfully ran for the Senate this year in Brno for TOP 09 with the support of KDU-ČSL. In the past, he worked in the USA. He took on the position of city architect in July 2016, previously holding a job in Los Angeles.

The Office of the Chief Architect had previously existed in Brno but was dissolved in 2003 when the city was led by a coalition headed by ODS. The office was re-established at a time when the city hall was led by a coalition headed by the ANO movement. The Greens initiated its formation. It currently has around 60 employees.
