Brno will consider connecting Kociánky with Lesná via a new bridge

Brno - Brno is considering connecting the Kociánka area with Lesná by constructing a bridge. The Brno councilor for transport, Petr Kratochvíl (ODS), stated this to journalists. There is significant construction taking place at Kociánka, and the city wants to develop social services there, but there is only one access road. The projected costs for the bridge could be around 30 million crowns.

The councilors approved the development of a project proposal for the bridge's construction. It would connect Kociánka to Okružní Street in Lesná. "There is massive construction in the entire area, not only by private developers, but the city of Brno also intends to develop social services there," stated Kratochvíl.

For example, there is a Kociánka center that helps disabled children and adults. The first children's hospice in the Czech Republic could also be established there, which is planned by the organization Dům pro Julii. The city itself wants to build a senior housing facility, a care home, as well as residential buildings in the area.

According to Kratochvíl, there is only one access road to the area. "This is insufficient for further development. Therefore, we are looking for an option that will allow more comfortable transportation in the locality. We want to prevent a situation where construction occurs, but then people turn to the city, claiming that there is no way for them to enter," added Kratochvíl.
