Why does the center of Benešov look the way it does? What quality post-revolution buildings have emerged here? Why are there so many missing houses in the center? What is a square and how should it look? What has disappeared and what is new? Is there a lack of greenery, parking, or something else? A walk around the city center with a map in hand with members of the archibn association.

A journey around the surrounding area of Beroun culminating in an intensive meeting with one family house. A house that hides on a hill among trees. Guided by Ummagumma architects.

Brno – Architecture & Comics
Presentation of comic authors who have studied architecture.

A Central European symposium focusing on the problem of mutual influence of the two disciplines of architecture and comics. Examining not only the omnipresent architecture in comics but also the influence of comics on architecture, as well as the phenomenon of a large number of graduated architects establishing themselves as comic authors and other related topics.

Screening of short films documenting the role of architecture in animated films according to the curatorial selection of Mélanie van der Hoorn, a cultural anthropologist from Vienna and author of the publication Bricks & Balloons: Architecture in Comic-Strip Form.

Brno - Lesná – panel garden city
Lesná has attracted attention with its unusual concept of a loose structure of large panel blocks set in a wooded slope even abroad since its inception. Today, the declaration of Lesná as a protected zone is awaited and expert on its history and present Martin Maleček will guide those interested in this still present and vivid testimony of freedom and expansion of the "golden" 60s.

Brno – Metropolitan Palaces
For Central European modernism, the urban palace represents a significant type of building that became a symbol of the birth of a metropolis. Two significant Brno interwar palaces – Wiesner's Palace Morava and Fuchs's Palace Alfa on a walk with the editor-in-chief of the magazine ERA 21, architect Zuzana Morávková. Brno – Brno Sports Dream
On the former city dump, an ambitious project for the Brno national stadium began to be realized in the second half of the 20th century. What remains today from the original plans, and what was the fate of the area after the fall of the communist regime? A guided walk exploring the architecture and urban development of sports grounds around Lužánky with architect Jaroslav Sedlák and theorist Šárka Svobodová from 4AM/Fórum pro architekturu a média.

Brno – Brno sorela – architecture and official art in public space of the 50s
The complex period of Stalinism in the 1950s brought the application of principles of socialist realism in architecture and art. The autonomy of creators is limited by state-controlled institutions and architecture and art become instruments of political goals. In Brno, we will visit residential complexes and related artistic works from the so-called sorela period.

A walk around the background of representative architecture and the underground of the city with architect and artist Barbora Šimonová and her guests.

Bystřice pod Hostýnem – Nádražní street and the legacy of Otto Zeman
Otto Zeman was the man who gave the town a distinct architectural face and urban design at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, so it could boast not only of intense industrial development but also the characteristic emergence of urban construction. A walk with architect Tomáš Jalůvka.

Čelákovice – a town facing the landscape
Architecture Day in Čelákovice will take us not only to the landscape around the town and the Elbe but also to the former area of J. Volman's factory. The diversity of the brownfield environment and the landscape along the Elbe is only seemingly different, and both environments are surprisingly close to each other. Come discover the future riverbank or support the return of industry to the landscape. With "Captain" Josef Zumr and other architects.

Červený Kostelec – In the shadow of the skyscraper
Where can the Kostelec skyscraper be seen? Join us on a lookout trail around a significant cultural industrial monument of the city. During our journey, we will also visit a workers' colony, hidden alleys, and wild forest. The charm of life in the shadow of Bruno Bauer's skyscraper will be presented by members of the Kostelec Beautification Society.

Česká Lípa – SIAL in Česká Lípa
Česká Lípa would not be the town it is today without the influence of the SIAL group. Top architects like Hubáček, Suchomel, Přikryl, Zavřel, and others have left their mark here in the form of well-designed public buildings. Architects Jakub Kolek and Tereza Šváchová will remind us of their significance in their lecture.

KD Crystal, as you don’t know it (Hurrah inside)
KD Crystal was designed and realized by architect Jiří Suchomel and the SIAL studio. From 1974 to 1990, it was supposed to serve as a cultural center for the then-growing town. The author innovatively experimented with a then-unusual heating method, using solar energy. Although the locals never accepted this building, it is among the most valuable monuments of Czechoslovak architectural creation of the past regime.

České Budějovice – Budějovice bridges and footbridges
Budějovice is a city at the confluence of the Vltava and Malše rivers. How did the city cope with their bridging? When and where were bridges built and could they be built? Who designed them and what are their actual names? Are bridges engineering structures or architecture? What do the forebanks and riverbanks look like? A guided walk through current and historical Budějovice bridges with architects from the CBArchitektura association.

Český Dub – new in the old, old in the new
Over the last hundred years, numerous construction changes have occurred in the historical core of Český Dub, which have left their mark on its appearance. A walk around the town will bring the issue of construction interventions closer, e.g., the primary school complex or the unfinished culture house. Together with conservationist Jaroslav Horáček, we will uncover their contributions or shortcomings.

Havířov – Family housing in Havířov
Set off to explore the architecture of family houses from the second half of the 20th century with architects Lucie Chytilová and Adam Guzdek on a walk through the Bludovice district. Discover your residence through the eyes of experts and you may be surprised.

Hradec Králové – Jan Kotěra in Hradec
Architect Jan Kotěra left a total of five built realizations in Hradec Králové. These are both well-known and lesser-known buildings: the District House, the Museum building, the Palm Garden, the Prague Bridge, and the Municipal Town Houses. A unique tour of the exteriors and interiors of Jan Kotěra's buildings in Hradec Králové with historian and curator Ladislav Zikmund-Lender. Hradec Králové – Post-war architecture in Hradec Králové
In the years 1945–1989, the urbanism of Hradec Králové was complemented by a number of remarkable buildings and complexes. An afternoon with a lecture, a presentation of a book, and a walk around the Prague suburb will highlight significant completed and unrealized buildings, housing developments, and sculptures in public space. The guide will be historian and curator Ladislav Zikmund-Lender.

Jablonec nad Nisou – Children of architects
The book D.O.M.E.K. introduces contemporary architecture to children, their parents and grandparents, friends and peers. As a special children’s edition of the Printed Architecture series, it will be presented by publisher Jana Kostelecká. Together with a team of professional lecturers from Aero School, they will transform all children aged 6 to 12 into architects for an hour and a half.

<Jablonec nad Nisou
A guided walk with architectural historian Jaroslav Zeman, which will present the first contributions to the website and online database of architects and buildings jablonec-gablonz.net. The site follows related websites from Ústí nad Labem, Děčín, Teplice, Litoměřice, and neighboring Liberec. The walk will conclude with the launch of the website in the building of the municipal baths.

Special screening of the documentary film Plan
Whose city is it? What is the price of public space? Is developer a dirty word? Representatives, who do you represent? A documentary by director Benjamin Tuček follows the development of city planning in Prague. It is also useful for other cities. The special screening will take place thanks to cooperation with www.kinajablonec.cz and Artpro space in the awakening space of the former municipal baths.

Jaroměř and water – lost connections
Jaroměř was more connected to river water than it is today. Under the guidance of conservationist Jiří Balský and others, we will learn about the form and location of the lost buildings connected to the Elbe River (canals, bridges, mills) that once existed here and shaped Jaroměř, including the mill drain, thanks to which we still have the location Na Ostrově.

Jičín – Tamlovka
New buildings are usually evaluated primarily in the context of the existing development. This is also true for the multifunctional complex Tamlovka, which was built in close proximity to the city center. A guided tour with the participation of the investor and architect of the building Pavel Pršel will bring us closer to this issue and the details of the building's creation.

Jičín – New construction in the historic city center
During a debate on contemporary architectural realizations in the historic city center, alongside the evaluation of Tamlovka, we will also learn about various approaches to incorporating new buildings into the existing urban organism in other similarly-sized cities.

Jičín – Enough Baroque
The town of Jičín is not just significant buildings from the time of Albrecht von Wallenstein. A guided walk with art historian Gabriela Petrova through some realizations by Čeňek Musil, as well as other buildings from the 20th century. Notable buildings will include the Czech Paradise cinema, Hus's Hall, or Hotel Start.

Jihlava – industrial object Palmovka
A visit to a successful reconstruction of an industrial building, a villa from 1912 with adjoining manufacturing and storage spaces. The buildings are located in the area of the industrial company Jihlavan near the city center. The tour is organized by architects from the Jihlava studio UNArchitekti.

Karlovy Vary – Hotel Thermal lovingly rejected
About the history, present, and possible future of the Thermal hotel complex designed by the architectural duo of the Machonin brothers. The guide will be architect Pavel Směták as well.

Kokořínsko: Dubá – Lobeč – Mšeno
Kokořínsko – Industrial monuments of Kokořínsko: Dubá – Lobeč – Mšeno
A cycling trip around the technical monuments of Kokořínsko, accompanied by expert commentary. We will stop at these cultural monuments: hop dryer in Dubá, brewery in Lobeč, malt house in Mšeno – and other interesting features of the area.

Kolín – Jaselská – the city's barrier
The bypass around the city no longer makes sense after the completion of the outer bypass and becomes a mere barrier that harms the city. Vojtěch Malina (FUA TUL) will present his diploma project on humanizing the bypass and guide us on a walk.

Kolín – City on the river / by the river
We will walk along the embankment from Kmoch's island to the train station. We will explore whether Kolín is a city "by the river" or "on the river." We will explore the beauties of Kolín's wilderness, bridges, and other architectural phenomena near the river. We will showcase some upcoming projects. The walk will be commented on by architect Vojtěch Ertl and botanist Jan Albert Šturma.

Kolín – Screening – the movie Black Peter by Miloš Forman
Look for images of Kolín from the 60s in the film Black Peter by director Miloš Forman from 1963. Among other things, the film features shots from Kmoch's island, Karlovo Square, Zahradní Street, and Podskalské embankment.

Kyjov – Modern Kyjov
In the 1930s, a lot of high-quality buildings sprang up in Kyjov, mainly thanks to local functionalists (J. Polášek, L. Hilgert, B. Tureček). Come walk through the city with local architect Vladislav Králíček. We will visit some of them and compare them with what is being built in Kyjov today.

Litoměřice - Housing estate – a place for life?
Panel housing estates are inseparably linked with the time of their creation and generally have a bad reputation. The Litoměřice///Leitmeritz platform will show that nothing is black and white, and that it is also possible to live well in a housing estate. On the other hand, we cannot pretend that everything should be "colorful," as the current thermal insulation trend suggests.

Mělník – Normalization architecture in context
Conservationist Mirka Lacinová will summarize the development of Mělník architecture in the 20th century, recalling the most significant buildings and urban projects. Subsequently, we will focus on the normalization modification of Karel IV. Square – what led to it, what had to give way, and how it served its purpose. We will look at historical photographs and reminisce with witnesses.

Mělník – Family playing with architecture
An educational program for children and adults in the improvised glass café Budoucnost. Working with various materials, developing spatial imagination, and working with stylistic elements. A space for relaxation, with an opportunity to see competitive works from the architectural-urban competition Revitalization of Karel IV. Square. A workshop for kids and adults with the Mělník Cultural Center.

Mělník – The Future of Karel IV. Square?
A panel discussion with representatives of the winning team of the conceptual competition for the reconstruction of Karel IV. Square, city representatives, and conservationists directly in the spaces of the demented and rejected Service House from the 80s. Why invest in quality urbanism and architecture? A walk through the discussed sites, a concert, and a party in a shopping mall.

Mělník – History and present of the Mělník fortifications
With the disappearance of the need to fortify cities, the question arose of how to deal with city fortifications and the space they occupied. How has Mělník historically dealt with this question and what future do the Mělník fortifications and the space around them hold, as discussed in a guided walk with members of the Mělník debatuje association.

Mnichovo Hradiště - Through cultural, historical, and modern landscapes
We start at the Mnichovo Hradiště castle, whose composition has baroque features extending into the open landscape. We will show high-quality architecture in the family house developments – in the cultural landscape. We will also stop in places that speak in pleasant green color and return back to the historic part where the old meets the new. Guided by architect Milan Macoun and landscape engineer Jan Štrojsa.

Nenačovice – Eco-Center Archa Country Life
A guided tour of the building of the Country Life company demonstrating an eco-friendly approach to the environment. Guided by project author Aleš Brotánek. This is a reconstruction of the original barn into a multifunctionally used object in an energy-passive and low-energy standard.

Nymburk - Nymburk between ramparts – gaps and public space
About the present form and potential of the center of Nymburk. We will focus on gaps, problematic buildings, public space, and its furnishings. A discussion of the character of streets, greenery, squares. There may also be a boat ride in the medieval moat. A walk with architect Jan Ritter Jr. and art historian Jan Červinka.

Olomouc – Along Kosmonautů Street
We will visit the oldest panel building in Olomouc, discuss the circumstances of the construction of Kosmonautů Street, find out how the urban plan of this area evolved, and what its future holds. We will search for artistic decorations in the housing estate and find out what we have left and what we have lost. With art historian Martina Mertová, architect Petr Daněk, and guide Jan Jeništa.

Olomouc – Rudolf Eitelberger Award 2015
The announcement of the fourth year of the o.s. For the Beautiful Olomouc award for successful projects in the field of architecture, urbanism, and heritage care in Olomouc and the entire Olomouc region from 7/2013 to 8/2015. The ceremonial presentation of the award will be preceded by a vernissage of the three previous laureates and ten nominations for this year in the Lomená Gallery.

Olomouc – From Neředín across the green horizon to Hněvotín
Together we will walk along the old road from Neředín, originally an independent village, across the endangered Neředín horizon to Hněvotín. We will learn about the new territorial plan and the changes it has brought, and in Hněvotín, we will show you typical housing estate mush in the new developments.

Ostrava – Vítkovice - Industrial architecture DOV
Dolní Vítkovice consists of the former industrial complex of the Hlubina Mine, a coke plant, and a blast furnace of the Vítkovice Ironworks. The area is a unique industrial monument and an unmistakable symbol of Ostrava and the entire Moravian-Silesian region. A tour of Dolní Vítkovice with an architectural studio will take place off the classic visitor routes. Reservation is necessary through Dolní Vítkovice's reservation system.

Pardubice - Pardubice by water
Houses grow around the water, the banks of the river are connected by bridges...
Water in the city is a phenomenon and a city-forming element! An Offcity trip along the water about water structures, bridges, embankments, and architecture that grew around the Pardubice rivers Chrudimka and Elbe with architects Ondřej Teplý and architectural historian František Václavík. Piešťany – 10% art in architecture
Art is an integral part of architecture, but it can take various forms, which we will present. Art in architecture can be considered a fountain in a residential estate, but also the building as such. During socialism, art in architecture was mandatory, even quantified as a percentage of construction costs. We will also look at these percentages.

Plzeň – Modern Plzeň
Although modern architecture did not play as significant a role in Plzeň in the first half of the 20th century as in Zlín or Hradec Králové, its ethos of progress and transformation is still evident in the city today. A walk highlighting the wealth of modernity in Plzeň and its connection to contemporary times will be conducted by the authors of the Plzeň Architectural Manual (PAM).

Poděbrady - By bike through the builders of Poděbrady
A cycling tour through the streets that managed to give and maintain the character of a residential neighborhood according to the best traditions and capabilities of local builders, in contrast to the post-revolution housing mash.

From Sokol to Sparta. The past and present of the Strahov Stadium with architectural historian Miroslav Pavel. Uncovering the faded glory of the largest stadium of its kind in the world.

Praha – Topography of water
Rivers and streams, floodplains, and deep valleys are also architecture. With landscape architect Štěpán Špoula, we will see what this original structure of Prague looks like and how to read it.

Praha 4 – Spořilov – the largest garden city of Greater Prague
The so-called old Spořilov serves as an example of a first-republic garden city that should serve as a model for the founding of modern residential complexes concerning urban solutions, self-sufficiency, and generously established public greenery. A reminder of the original idea and its current state influenced particularly by changes in the community composition, reconstruction of family houses, change of services, and car traffic.

Praha – Hlávkův Bridge – a concrete gallery over the river
Hlávkův Bridge, constructed according to the design of architect Pavel Janák and structural engineer František Mencl between 1909 and 1912, is an overlooked but nevertheless extraordinary example of early modern architecture and sculpture. However, the current state of the bridge is tragic, even though it is a monument that uniquely expresses the rise of architectural cubism. With architectural historian Vendula Hnídková.

Praha – Strašnice – Solidarity
On the educational trail, we will visit, among other things, Solidarity – the first post-war housing estate in Prague that will surprise us with its generous urbanism, use of concrete panels, and low row houses inspired by housing in Scandinavia. With art historian Eva Novotná.

Praha – Seventies in the center
The assessment of the architectural quality of buildings from the 70s is still distorted by negative connotations about the time of their origin. The Federal Assembly, Kotva, Intercontinental, ČKD, Nová scéna. We will look at the buildings of the most outstanding creators of the 70s in the center and discuss the issue of heritage protection of this architecture with art historian Veronika Vichterková.

Praha – Karlín: The Workers Left, Accountants Came
We will begin at Langweill's model of Prague, which depicts Karlín from 1837, at the beginning of its industrial glory. We will finish at the headquarters of the Economia publishing house, in a former machine hall where, instead of boilers, newspapers are produced today, marking the definitive end of the industrial era. What happened in between? Demolishing and building, beautifying and gentrification. Your guides through Karlín, a neighborhood that has changed, will be journalist Karolína Vránková and architect David Mateásko.

Praha – Veletržní Palace – Architecture for Art
How does an artist think in the role of exhibition architect? Meet creators who work with objects and installations on the border of architecture in their free work and at the same time focus on installing exhibitions of contemporary art. Dominik Lang installed the exhibition of laureates of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, of which he is also a winner, over the past 25 years. Another award winner – artist Jiří Příhoda – is preparing an installation of a retrospective exhibition of the rediscovered sculptor Marie Bartuszová for Veletržní Palace. Praha – Unknown Veletržní Palace
A gem of functionalist architecture, Veletržní Palace, was built between 1926 and 1928 according to the design of Josef Fuchs and Oldřich Tyl and became one of the first functionalist buildings in our country and in Europe. Originally serving commercial purposes, in 1974 it burned down and after challenging negotiations, it was reconstructed for the needs of the National Gallery in Prague. Today it is a place where viewers are presented with a unique collection of Czech and foreign modern and contemporary art. You will be guided through the usually inaccessible parts of Veletržní Palace by curator Radomíra Sedláková.

Praha – Architecture for Art
A workshop for families with children and other interested parties. Can a sculpture become architecture? What does an artist do who becomes an exhibition architect? Come try the boundary disciplines – exhibition installation and sculptural interventions in space that become part of architecture. We will be inspired by artist Dominik Lang, who combines installation, architecture, and sculpture in his work. The workshop will be led by Šárka Matoušková and Michaela Trpišovská. Praha 10 – Vršovice architecture of the 60s-80s
Along the former "SNB street" (now Vršovická Street) to the “Cuban Revolution Square”, there are still seven ruins of exemplary works of architecture from the 60s to 80s of the last century. Its creators included J. Siegel, V. Klimeš, Z. Edel, J. Votruba, and many others. A walk with architect Nela Bastlová, who was born into Vršovice architecture in the mid-80s, which co-shaped and nurtured her, and who witnessed the destruction of this style.

A family art workshop as part of Architecture Day for the exhibition by Jakub Szczęsny: Operations. Do you know the narrowest house in the world? Architect Jakub Szczęsny designed it for Israeli writer Etgar Keret in a gap between two apartment buildings in Warsaw. Jakub Szczęsny (1973) is a Polish architect, co-founder of the architectural studio Centrala (2001). From 1993 to 2001, he studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology and also at the Escuela Tecnica Superior D’Arquitectura de Barcelona and Ecoled’Architecture Paris la Defense. The Centrala studio strives to operate in the field of building and interior architecture, urbanism, and last but not least, it also engages in architectural criticism. Prachatice from war to revolution
Prachatice, like many other cities, underwent a significant urban transformation during socialism. What was this transformation like? What did the city lose, what did it gain? And how did we cope with it? These are questions that remain relevant when compared to 25 years of post-revolutionary development. Together we will attempt to reflect on them. Třebíč – Alive Jews today
The demanding restoration of the historically immensely valuable Jewish town, which became a ghetto for socially weak groups after the war, has brought this part of the town to the UNESCO list. Volyně – School in Nature or About Sleeping Beauty
Today the abandoned area of the school in nature is the work of architect Ladislav Konopka from 1980-1987. The controversial concept aimed to save children from northern Bohemia with a three-week stay in the Šumava foothills. Its prototype was the school of the trade union ADGB, built in 1930 according to the design of Hannes Meyer. Will Růženka find her prince after years? With architect Lukáš Velíšek.

Zlín – Screening of the film Plan
Whose city is it? What is the price of public space? Is developer a dirty word? Representatives, who do you represent? Žďár nad Sázavou – New with the old: reconstructions and extensions in Vysočany
How can one live individually in the new in an older residential area? A walk with local native Petr Matějka will present newly realized reconstructions and extensions of individually residential houses in the Vysočany district. The realizations will be accompanied by the words of the authors of the designs themselves.

In the old new: Vodojem housing in boiler rooms
The walk will show the reconstructions of four originally gas boiler houses built in the 70s to ensure the heating supply of nearby apartment buildings. The housing reconstruction projects proceeded independently of each other. From one uniform object, four different results emerged.
