Liberec:Reichenberg is a professional platform mapping architecture in Liberec and its surroundings. It is created in response to the pressing need to establish a previously missing online database of quality and historically valuable architecture, student projects for Liberec, and as a place for public discussion on the management of the environment in which we live daily.
We believe that all unfortunate interventions into the urban structure are caused by our insufficient understanding of the spirit of the place. It is easier for a person to destroy what they do not know. The aim of the site is to map the architectural and urban development of Liberec, thereby reviving historical memory and the fundamental links between urban space and its inhabitants. In addition to operating the online database and providing information about current events in the regional architectural field, the project brings other initiatives in the form of guided tours or collaborations on exhibitions and publications.
Liberec:Reichenberg is a voluntary initiative. Conceptually, it connects with the platforms Ústí///Aussig and Teplice///Teplitz and shares the database with them. It is established with the support of the Internal Grant Competition of the Faculty of Science, Humanities, and Education at TU in Liberec.
