Brno - This year's Brno International Guide Day will offer interested parties, among other things, a tour of the Stiassny Villa, which is currently under reconstruction. The eighth edition of this tourist event, primarily aimed at Brno visitors, will take place on the third weekend of February, specifically on February 19 and 20. People will be able to participate in tours across a total of 17 routes for a low fee, guided by professional guides. The event is organized by the city of Brno in cooperation with the Association of Guides of the Czech Republic. "The tours will be mainly directed to the city center, significant secular and church buildings, and will focus on exploring history and monuments," said Jana Fantová from the Brno Cultural Center to reporters today. This year's highlight is the tour of the interior of the functionalist Stiassny Villa, which is currently undergoing reconstruction costing 180 million crowns. Guide Day will offer interested parties the opportunity to view functionalist or Art Nouveau monuments of Brno or the interiors of churches, which visitors usually do not have much chance to see throughout the year. There is significant interest, according to the organizers, in the so-called large circuit, which will take visitors through the more peripheral parts of Brno, including Husovice, Zábrdovice, and Židenice. According to Fantová, there will also be circuits prepared for children, for foreigners, and for the disabled. The ticket price is 30 crowns. Last year, over 500 people attended the same event in Brno.
