Prague - Owners of residential buildings in Prague can apply for subsidies under the New Green Savings (NZÚ) program starting today. According to the Ministry of the Environment, a quarter of a billion crowns will be available for applicants, with additional funds coming from the sale of emission allowances according to the office.
Applicants can use the funds for insulation, window and door replacement, and newly also for replacing old solid fuel boilers or installing solar systems. One of the new features is that the call for applications will be continuous, meaning it will last until the end of 2021.
Applications can be submitted by owners' associations (of residential units) and housing cooperatives, as well as natural and legal persons and city districts. Another new feature of the support for residential buildings is the increase of the maximum subsidy amount from 20 to 30 percent of eligible expenses. Applicants who already have a request processed from last year can transfer it to this year's call, which according to the Ministry of the Environment offers more favorable conditions and a higher subsidy.
However, they will first have to cancel the original application and submit a new one electronically. The other documents, however, according to the ministry, can be used from the original application. They will not have to resubmit the project documentation and energy assessment.
In total, the NZÚ aims to distribute 27 billion crowns among recipients from the Czech Republic over the next six years, primarily for family houses across the country.
