Prague - Twenty light installations and projections on historic buildings in the city center will attract visitors to the Signal Light Festival from today until Sunday evenings. Organizers of the event, which offers unusual visual experiences in the backdrop of the city, expect around half a million visitors and therefore recommend a one-way route through two dozen program stops.

The light attractions will be illuminated today at 7:00 PM and will be in operation until Sunday, always until midnight. The festival will feature four video mappings, one of which will be projected inside a large tent that has been set up for this purpose at Klárov. This is also the only paid projection, with tickets available on-site for 190 crowns.
According to the organizers, one of the biggest draws of the festival is a large-scale three-dimensional video mapping on the Kinský summer palace. Its creator is the Turkish group OUCHHH, which transforms the classical monument into parametric architecture using abstract elements and algorithms.
The festival's opening on Thursday will take place near one of the largest installations, a massive light net suspended in space above náměstí Jana Palacha. The work, reminiscent of fishing nets, is shaped based on data on various heights of tsunami waves across the ocean that resulted from the earthquake in Chile in 2010.
