Hradec Králové - Eight entities have applied to participate in the competition for the design project of a new football stadium in Hradec Králové. The winner is expected to be announced in September, as the committee is currently evaluating the bids. The city estimates the value of the contract at four to five million crowns. The winner will develop complete documentation for the zoning process, building permit, and construction execution. The mayor's assistant Jindřich Vedlich (TOP 09) told ČTK today. FC Hradec Králové, which was relegated to the second league this year, operates from the existing outdated stadium in Malšovice.
At the same time as the competition for the project developer, the city is searching in another tender for a company that will ensure supervision of the design work and technical oversight services for the investor. The city wants to have the assurance of hiring a supervisor that the publicly scrutinized project will proceed without issues.
The new football arena is expected to have a capacity of 10,000 spectators. Construction should take place in phases at the site of the current stadium. The estimated costs for the entire stadium are about 400 million crowns. If everything goes smoothly, matches could be played at the new stadium in 2018, city officials previously stated.
The winner for the documentation development will have the feasibility study of the new stadium, prepared by architect Tomáš Vymetálek, and documents of a previous zoning decision for the stadium’s construction from 2007 as a basis. The main criterion for the documentation developer competition is the price, which will weigh 70%, while the remaining evaluation will depend on the proposed deadlines for developing the documentation.
The main burden of financing the stadium will fall on the city. Initially, the city was supposed to mainly finance the stadium from the sale of land for a shopping center to the company ECE for 259 million crowns. However, ECE withdrew from the project, and the city decided to build the stadium itself.
