Františkovy Lázně (Chebsko) - The town hall in Františkovy Lázně wants to build two new park pavilions. They are to be located west of the Milano complex behind the summer cinema. The city has already commissioned the preparation of the project, said the mayor of Františkovy Lázně, Ivo Mlátilík, today to ČTK. One of the pavilions is to be commercial and the other for dancing. "There is a shortage of non-residential spaces in the city, yet there is still demand for them. Once completed, we will rent out the spaces in the pavilion," Mlátilík stated. The project for the pavilions will be created for the city by Cheb architect Luděk Vystyd based on a tender. However, the construction of the pavilions is just one of many projects that Františkovy Lázně is preparing. The regional office has begun assessing the Jadran swimming pool project in terms of its environmental impact. "As part of the revitalization of the facility, the existing tank with biological cleaning will be repaired, the communication in front of the complex will be reconstructed, a parking lot for 40 cars will be established, existing infrastructure will be reconstructed, and a facility for support will be built," said the spokesperson of the regional office, Anrea Bocková. Construction is expected to start in May 2008 and be completed in May 2010. The area of the former America campsite will also undergo reconstruction and revitalization, with plans for the construction of 20 starter apartments or a sports hall. "Together, these projects amount to about 200 million crowns. We already have one hundred million of that prepared. Which of the investments will start first will depend solely on when we obtain the building permit," Mlátilík stated. A large portion of the funds for the investments has been acquired by the city through the sale of unnecessary property. However, this has been criticized by the opposition in the council, especially the ODS, which ran the town hall until the last elections. In protest against the town's leadership, all ODS members from the council resigned.
