The region will open bids for the construction of Náchod hospital for 1.4 billion CZK

Hradec Králové/ Brno - The Hradec Králové Region is expected to open envelopes with offers from companies for the tender for the reconstruction of the Náchod Regional Hospital this morning, with a value of 1.4 billion crowns excluding VAT. This is the largest current investment project in the region. The actual opening of the envelopes will take place at the headquarters of the Brno company RTS, which is organizing the competition for the region. This current tender for the hospital reconstruction is the fourth in a row, as the previous three competitions were canceled by the regional council for various reasons.

The current tender was announced by the region on August 1 of this year. The original deadline for opening the envelopes was October 2, but it has been postponed twelve times due to inquiries from applicants. The region received approximately 100 inquiries from potential candidates, which it has answered.

The region anticipates that the actual construction could start in the spring of next year and last for 26 months. The foundation of the project includes the construction of two new hospital buildings. Additionally, a facility for medicinal gases will be created, an above-ground corridor will be built, and underground corridors between the buildings will also be established.

The tender also includes an option for a potential second phase of the modernization of the hospital, estimated at 420 million crowns. Therefore, the total value of the contract could reach 1.82 billion crowns excluding VAT should the option be exercised.

In previous competitions, the region got the farthest in the third tender, which was halted by a police intervention on September 22, 2016, just a day before the envelopes were to be opened. The new regional leadership later canceled the competition. This year, the police charged two individuals with influencing the contract.
