Karel Prager

In 2011, the ORLOVNA GALLERY, in cooperation with the Švabinský Circle of Friends of Fine Arts, organized a large exhibition to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of the prominent Czech architect and native of Kroměříž, Karel Prager.
Part of the accompanying program included a seminar on the life and work of K. P., which resulted in a proposal to place a commemorative plaque on his childhood home in the future, to remind the city of its connection to this significant artist, who was born in Kroměříž, attended school here, found his first job, got married here, and is buried in the local cemetery.
The city leadership accepted the proposal, and the commemorative plaque for one of the greatest Czech architects of the second half of the twentieth century will be ceremoniously unveiled on the occasion of his posthumous eighty-ninth birthday on August 24 at 4 PM at Masaryk Square in Kroměříž.
