Hradec Králové - The inhabitants of Hradec Králové can express their opinions on the concept of the new territorial plan. The city is preparing discussions of the document with the public for August and September. People will have the opportunity to submit comments and objections until October 4, architect Tomáš Vymetálek, who is working on the territorial plan with his colleague Patrik Kotas, said to reporters today.
The discussion of the concept of the territorial plan will begin on August 6 with a meeting for councilors, and public meetings will follow on August 15, 22, and September 5. The public discussion of the territorial plan is scheduled for September 19. "The concept of the territorial plan has been posted since Monday, July 23, to give the public maximum opportunity to familiarize themselves with it," Vymetálek said. People can also familiarize themselves with the concept at the town hall.
The plan, according to Vymetálek and Kotas, develops the current circular layout of the city as outlined in the plan by Josef Gočár from the first half of the 20th century. The development axis envisions extending westward towards the Kukleny area towards the D11 highway. "Our territorial plan does not aim to expand the city into the countryside and occupy agricultural land, but rather seeks to find reserves within the city," said Vymetálek.
The authors of the plan also address the connection of the city to the D11 highway, city bypass routes, and development around the airport in the document. The concept includes two variations, which differ mainly in the solutions provided for the communication network. More details can be found at www.hradeckralove.org.
The Hradec council decided to create a new territorial plan in June 2009, with 19 proposals submitted to the competition. The development of the city should be guided by the plan for the next ten to fifteen years starting from 2015. To date, the city has been following the territorial plan from 2000, which was designed for a ten-year period.
