Hradec Králové - The hundred-thousand-strong city of Hradec Králové could have a new zoning plan within two years. The city hall has been working on it since 2010. According to the city leadership, the issuance of the zoning plan has significantly approached in recent months. Public discussion on the zoning plan could take place again in the summer. Its completion is among the priorities of the ruling five-party coalition. So far, the city has been guided by a zoning plan from 2000, which was designed for a ten-year period.
"It is relatively common for large cities that the creation and issuance of a zoning plan takes quite a long time, and unfortunately, Hradec Králové is no exception. However, we have now significantly approached its issuance," said today the deputy mayor for spatial planning Adam Záruba (Change for Hradec).
According to him, the city hall has completed the evaluation of the public discussion on the zoning plan, and since last September, the designer has been making adjustments to the draft zoning plan for the repeated public discussion. After that, there will be another evaluation of the discussion. "How long this phase will take, we are not yet able to specify exactly. We do not know how many objections and comments we will receive from the public," Záruba stated. He pointed out that the subject of discussion will no longer be the entire draft zoning plan, but only its amended parts. The public has so far made over 1800 submissions regarding the zoning plan.
According to the city hall, the new zoning plan should create conditions for the development of transport and technical infrastructure, civic amenities, and take into account the protection of nature and landscape. "Our coalition wants to be open to development projects. We want to set clear and transparent rules for investors in the city area," Záruba said.
The coalition in Hradec Králové after the elections in September 2021 consists of the coalition of the Hradec Democratic Club (HDK) and TOP 09, ODS, Pirates, the movement Developing Hradec, and the group Change for Hradec and Greens.
