Mělník

Mělník – Mělník is preparing a new zoning plan, and due to the number of objections, there will be another public discussion. The plan determines the form of the city's development, including building plots, but also the preservation of green areas. After a recent public discussion, nearly 150 objections from landowners, as well as 12 comments from the public, were delivered to the office. The city administration's goal is to approve the plan this year, but it will depend, among other things, on resolving the objections and other particulars, said the spokesperson for the Mělník town hall, Barbora Walterová, to ČTK today.

The city has been preparing the new zoning plan for several years. The municipal office will also address the requirements of the Ministry of Transport, the regional office, and the environmental department. "Currently, the construction department is organizing meeting dates with the relevant authorities, a so-called conciliation process. Then the individual suggestions will be addressed by a commission composed of representatives of the preparer, the contractor, the city architect, and the designated councilor," Walterová stated.

The designer will then modify the draft of the zoning plan, and a public discussion will be repeated. If no further complications arise, upon expiration of the deadlines, the councilors will approve the plan's proposal.

The new zoning plan was approved last year in January, for example, by the Rakovník councilors, and its preparation took eight years.

The zoning plan is a document that should guide the city's development, the amount of construction, which can be limited according to various criteria. It can be supplemented by so-called regulatory plans, which complement and specify the zoning plan, guide construction, help preserve historical buildings, the character of the city, and even ecologically significant sites.
