<Městské divadlo v Nymburku> will have a new entrance

Nymburk - People will enter the Hálkovo City Theater in Nymburk through a new entrance after the reconstruction that began these days. The interior spaces of the building will also undergo a series of modifications. The repairs are expected to be completed in the second half of September, Nymburk's mayor Ladislav Kutík said today.
From the new theater season, it will no longer be possible to enter the theater through the side entrance, but a new access will be created from the main Tyršova Street, in the place where a travel agency used to be located. The staircase and foyer will also be modified, and the layout of the changing rooms will change as well.
This will culminate the gradual reconstruction of the theater, which the city began in 2002. In previous years, the technical background of the stage has been changed, craftsmen repaired the curtain and ceiling, and new lighting and sound systems were installed. The building has a new façade, and the auditorium has also undergone repairs. The total costs for the theater's renovation will reach approximately ten million crowns, of which this year's modifications will cost around two million crowns.
The Hálkovo City Theater in Nymburk was founded in 1861 as an amateur theater. It was established by converting buildings of the former monastery. The amateur ensemble Hálek has been active in the theater since its founding. The theater, operated by Adolf Toman, has its semi-professional ensemble. It presents its own performances and also hosts several professional and semi-professional theaters.
