Nymburk – Nymburk is preparing a reconstruction of the southern wing of Hálkova Theatre, intending to modify and expand part of the operational-technical background, such as the actors' dressing rooms. The city has commissioned the RCNKSK studio to develop an architectural-technical study, which will serve as the basis for further preparatory work. The study will cost the city just under 200,000 crowns, reported Petr Černohous on behalf of the city in a press release today.
"The goal of the planned adjustment is to expand the space of the actors' dressing rooms and the associated social facilities. A new rehearsal space will be created, which has long been lacking not only for the actors but also for other employees involved in the performances and the operation of Hálkova Theatre. The project will include solutions for both the technical background of heating and air conditioning," stated Deputy Mayor Stanislava Tichá (Nymburk s klidem). The amount of investment should emerge from the study and project. The start date for the work will depend on the city's financial capabilities, Tichá added. "If the project is completed, we will try to account for the costs in next year's budget," she said.
The municipal theatre in Nymburk is a significant functionalist building dating from 1936. It was designed by architect Jaroslav Koska, a student of Josef Gočár. Since 1989, it has been owned by the city.
