Sokolov - The first expropriation proceedings have started for the construction of the R6 road from Cheb to Karlovy Vary. The reason is that some owners refuse to sell their land for the construction at the offered price of 80 crowns per square meter. Disputes are ongoing over land in the already implemented section Kamenný Dvůr - Tisová as well as in the section Tisová - Sokolov, where construction is expected to begin next year, according to today's regional edition of Mladá fronta Dnes (MfD).

The Directorate of Roads and Highways stated to MfD, without details, that expropriation has begun regarding one plot of land in another section of the Kamenný Dvůr - Tisová road, where construction has been taking place since last year. "It is impossible to estimate how long the expropriation proceedings will take," said the spokesperson for the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD), Jan Hoření. The failure to reach an agreement on the sale of the land could delay construction for many months or even years.
It is unclear who is affected. Given that work is underway on a four-lane road, the dispute likely relates only to the purchase price with which the landowner disagreed.
The public was previously unaware of the collapsing negotiations between the ŘSD and the landowners. The building authority mentioned the problems a few days ago in its document. At the request of the ŘSD, the validity of the zoning decision for the Sokolov - Tisová section, which had expired due to the delayed construction, has been extended by two years. Officials explained the extension by saying that they expect the expropriation to be lengthy.
For mayors and deputies, who would prefer to see a safe expressway across the region completed already, this is new and surprising news. "I know nothing about it. We wanted to push for the construction of this section to begin next year. The expropriation could significantly slow down our efforts," admitted Karlovy Vary Region parliament deputy Lubomír Suk.
The problem is that the Directorate of Roads and Highways offers the lowest possible price for the plots, 80 crowns per square meter. "I will not sell for that price," states resolutely Miroslav Putyra, the owner of the Mýtina guesthouse, which would have to yield to the expanded road. Putyra wants 200 crowns (he claims to have bought the plots for 300 crowns) and has already written this to the officials. He is still waiting for a response.
The mayor of Březová, Miroslav Bouda, warns that delays in road construction result in more traffic accidents and loss of life. "There is not a month without some terrible accident happening on the overloaded road," he said.
The acquisition of land is complicated not only on the route between Sokolov and Kamenný Dvůr near Kynšperk but also between Sokolov and Karlovy Vary. The city of Loket also does not want to sell its land for the construction of the road for 80 crowns. It wants at least 500 crowns per meter. It is, moreover, the owner of four hectares without which the construction of the R6 cannot proceed.
