Brno – The new zoning plan for Brno will no longer include a land reserve for the municipal hospital at Kraví hora. The change to the city's zoning plan was approved by Brno's city councillors. They also approved other partial adjustments to the draft plan based on public comments and feedback from some city districts. The Brno city hall informed about this in a press release. The plan to build a new municipal hospital next to the park was criticized by many Brno residents, the Brno-střed district, and representatives of the observatory located at Kraví hora.
"One of the fundamental changes is the new land reserve for the municipal hospital. It will no longer be at Kraví hora, where green space will remain, but in the Brno-jih district, at the intersection of Černovická Street and the Svitava River. The municipal hospital project will now continue with a feasibility study commissioned by the Health Department of MMB (Brno City Hall). The Komárov area is very interesting. There is also consideration of part of the Technology Park. Everything will be verified through several studies," said Deputy Mayor Petr Hladík (KDU-ČSL).
In total, the councillors discussed 21 adjustments to the zoning plan for 13 city districts. "Most of the discussed and recommended adjustments concerned the expansion of green spaces, especially in housing estates such as Líšeň and Kohoutovice. There was also an expansion of landscape green spaces at the ornithologically valuable Černovická terrace. Based on feedback from public representatives and the city district, we recommended reducing the height profile in Přízřenice so that the future development would blend more smoothly with the existing village character of the construction," said Councillor for Urban Planning Filip Chvátal (KDU-ČSL).
The third public discussion of the draft new zoning plan is expected to take place this December.
