Přelouč (Pardubice) - A new town hall building in Přelouč is expected to arise near the square. The town already has a study of how the construction, costing about 100 million crowns, will look, and the councilors will comment on it on Thursday. It should be financed from the sale of municipal property, said mayor Irena Burešová to ČTK. "The building should be located on Československé armády Street. We would utilize the gap that exists here; the land belongs to us," Burešová stated. The study was prepared by Pardubice architect Milan Košař, and according to the mayor, he proposed a standard glazed administrative building in a contemporary design. The town wants to consolidate officials currently occupying multiple buildings into the new town hall. About 35 employees are located in old buildings on Masaryk Square, and the town rents offices for another 50 employees in a private building. "The buildings in the square are in terrible condition; moreover, we have to pay rent and are dependent on the owner's will and reluctance," Burešová said. The town intends to raise funds for the construction by selling unnecessary property, such as buildings and other real estate or municipal forests, for which it could obtain around 40 million crowns. The mayor estimates that construction could begin in the autumn of next year, with completion expected within a year. The town hall does not want to give up the original buildings in the square. They could serve as a cultural center after renovation. "There is a lack of an exhibition hall; we need to place the museum collections that are currently in storage," Burešová noted. However, obtaining grants from European Union funds is a condition for this.
