Jihlava - Experts in the Vysočina region will map architecturally valuable villas and family residences that have emerged in the region from the mid-19th century to the present. The publication "Famous Villas of the Vysočina Region" will be prepared by the Foibos agency in collaboration with the region and the National Heritage Institute in Brno. The public is expected to receive it next year, Horymír Kubíček from the regional department of culture told ČTK today. Kubíček stated that there are many unique objects in Vysočina that are not yet well-known. These include functionalist buildings, historicist structures, as well as younger objects. A large portion of these houses are in private hands. "I believe that their owners generally take very good care of them," Kubíček added. Interesting family houses can be found in Jihlava, particularly on Jiráskova and Fibichova streets. Residents of Pelhřimov can boast of buildings designed by architect Pavel Janák, while Krucemburk in the Havlíčkův Brod area features a house according to a design by Josef Gočár. Contemporary architecture should be presented in the book with the works of Luděk Rýzner from Humpolec - Glass house and Plecháč. According to initial considerations, the publication is expected to contain about 50 buildings. It will include the life stories of architects and builders, as well as the fates of the houses. The costs for processing and publishing the book will approach 900,000 crowns, with the Vysočina region contributing 150,000 crowns. The book will be part of the "Famous Villas" series, which has so far mapped the architectural works in Prague and Brno. By the end of 2008, it should be complemented by architecturally significant family houses from all regions.
