Valtice (Břeclavsko) - After nine years of court disputes, heritage protectors have recently taken care of the Belvedere chateau in the Lednice-Valtice area. The property was leased by an entrepreneur who refused to hand it over to them. In the end, the property had to be vacated by court order. Within three years, it is expected to be transformed into a conference center intended for organizing professional and social events, said Petr Kroupa, director of the Brno Institute of Heritage Protection, to CTK today. The chateau is one of the most neglected historical buildings in the Lednice-Valtice area. The building was acquired by heritage protectors many years ago from the Czech Academy of Sciences. They received it with a tenant - an entrepreneur who wanted to use the chateau for various presentations. Although the courts ruled that the tenant must leave, the entrepreneur ignored it. "This property is large enough to create meeting rooms and sufficient accommodation capacities. The Lednice-Valtice area is ideal for organizing various conferences," said the director. The Belvedere was built in 1802. In the Lednice-Valtice area, which spans over 200 square kilometers, it belonged to the places of rest. It was used by the estate owners during outings from the Lednice Castle.
