Pardubice – The Pardubice Region will invest approximately 340 million crowns into the buildings of schools and other educational facilities during this year's summer holidays, of which 125.5 million comes from grants. The amount includes not only work during the summer months but also long-term projects, the main construction parts of which are concentrated in the holiday period. This makes it possible to carry out extensive construction modifications with minimal impact on the regular operation of schools and student learning, said Lucie Novotná from the governor's office.

Among the significant investments is, for example, an extension of the special nursery and primary school in Polička for almost 44 million crowns. The project will provide new classrooms, spaces for the school club, special nursery school, a relaxation room, a staffroom, and a training kitchen.

In Litomyšl, the renovation of the historic building of the secondary horticultural and technical school continues. The project, costing nearly 55 million crowns, focuses on energy savings and includes the replacement of windows and doors, façade repairs, roof renewal, and complete modernization of the lightning protection systems. At the Pardubice Business Academy and Language School, windows will be replaced for 51 million crowns during the holidays, masonry will be reinforced, the electrical installation will be reconstructed, and air conditioning will be installed, along with extensive work in the gymnasium.

In July, an extensive reconstruction of specialized classrooms and workshops at the secondary gastronomic and technical school in Žamberk was completed. Thanks to nearly 95 million crowns of investment, the school has gained, among other things, 13 new classrooms, modernized workshops, and new technologies. New specialized classrooms will also be built in the extension of the special primary school in Lanškroun. The construction, costing nearly 28 million crowns, includes classrooms for multisensory therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, as well as barrier-free sanitary facilities and communication areas.

The Pardubice Region has also completed two significant investments, which will be presented to the public at the beginning of the school year. In the first week of September, a new gym of the secondary industrial school in Letohrad, costing 113 million crowns, will be ceremonially opened, fully funded by the region. The Secondary School of Applied Arts in Ústí nad Orlicí will then open the new Perla complex with studios. For the investment of 216 million crowns, the regional government has released 80 million crowns.
