Prague - Olšanské náměstí in Prague 3 could undergo modifications. The district has commissioned a feasibility study for the modifications of Táboritská and Ondříčkova streets, which includes improving traffic clarity, replacing pavement surfaces, and planting greenery. The study has been forwarded to the Technical Administration of Communications (TSK), which will prepare documentation for the zoning procedure. The project is expected to be associated with repairs on the neighboring section of Táboritská and Seifertova streets, which Prague 3 aims to complete by the end of 2020.

It is not yet clear how much the modifications would cost. According to Zdeněk Fikar from the Urban Development Department of Prague 3, however, the repairs should be financed by the magistrate and the reconstruction of the tram line section by the Prague Public Transit Company. The study incorporated requests from the transit company, communication managers, and the Institute of Planning and Development, Fikar added.

"Prague 3 should, in my opinion, commit to co-financing these projects - it is an effective tool to push for implementation. Without this, there is a risk that things will fall through the cracks in the broad agenda of construction projects at TSK or end up in a drawer,"
said councilor Ondřej Rut (Green Party/Zizkov (not only) for itself).

According to Rut, the modification of the space has been postponed for a long time, even though it is necessary due to safety concerns. "The addressed area ranks among the top spots in Prague regarding the highest number of traffic accidents involving pedestrians," he pointed out.
