Prague - The Prague Development Company (PDS) will prepare the construction of approximately 300 apartments on municipal land in Horní Počernice for the capital city. This was stated to journalists today after a meeting of the city council by Deputy Mayor Alexandra Udženija (ODS). In Horní Počernice, located on the eastern edge of Prague, the metropolis also plans to build a school for about 540 children.

"We would like about 300 units of affordable municipal rental housing to be created there," said Udženija. Therefore, PDS is to prepare project documentation for the construction of approximately 300 apartments for the capital city in Prague 20, between the streets K Odpočinku, Bořetická, Tlustého, and K Berance. According to Deputy Mayor Petr Hlaváček (STAN), mostly low-rise apartment buildings are to be built.

"We are helping to create housing where citizens wish it," said Udženija. According to her, construction could start between 2025 and 2030. The estimated costs for the construction of the apartments are approximately 2.3 billion crowns, according to the documents.

In the same area, PDS will further prepare the construction of a primary school, which, according to the deputy mayor, is of great interest. The school is expected to accommodate around 540 children, with projected costs of 503.5 million crowns.

PDS's role will be to prepare projects on municipal land and to be responsible for the entire duration of the approval processes up to the zoning decision and building permit. According to PDS director Petr Urbánek, the company will announce architectural competitions or tenders for contractors of individual project documentation for zoning and construction permits after the preparation is completed. Construction will proceed gradually and in stages.
