Rakovník - Rakovník continues to prepare for the renovation and extension of the sports hall, and will reissue a tender for the project, which was temporarily postponed due to the excessively high price. On the contrary, the planned reconstruction of the facilities and the stand of the SK football stadium will not start this year because the city was unable to obtain a grant from the National Sports Agency, said Rakovník city hall spokeswoman Kateřina Hradilová in response to a query from ČTK.

"The city leadership has indeed given the order to prepare for the announcement of the tender for the sports hall as promised," Hradilová stated. The tender issued last year for the expansion of the sports hall was canceled in August due to the price being double the estimated amount, which was approximately four million crowns excluding VAT. Only one bid exceeding eight million crowns excluding VAT was received during the tender process.

In total, the extension of the hall is estimated to cost more than 200 million crowns, and the city intends to apply for a grant from the National Sports Agency in this case as well. The construction could possibly begin next year, but it will depend on the completion of documentation and funding. The added hall is expected to have a larger playing area and seating for 300 spectators. The renewal of the facilities is also planned.
