Neratovice (Mělnicko) – The artist and sculptor Rony Plesl will create a glass Stations of the Cross for the new church that will be built according to the design of architect Zdeněk Fránek in Neratovice. It is expected to be completed in about three years. Next year, it could receive building permission.

"I want to choose the best collaborators for the church in Neratovice, and I consider Rony Plesl to be the best of our generation of artistic glassmakers," said Fránek. The glass Stations of the Cross will be embedded in the wall of the church. Plesl collaborates with several traditional companies, such as Cartier, Moser, and Preciosa. This summer, he exhibited a glass installation titled Sacred Geometry at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

"In my work, I often touch on the theme of faith. More precisely, as Jan Amos Komenský best expressed it, the labyrinth of the world and the paradise of the heart. I am interested in the geometric essence of natural forms in relation to the geometry created by humans. Sacred architecture is, for me, a great inspiration in this connection. Moreover, glass, which connects with light, gives buildings another dimension," Plesl added.
