Brno - Mojmírovo Square in the Brno district of Královo Pole is set to undergo revitalization for nearly 78 million Czech koruna. The modifications primarily involve the removal of part of the road and the expansion of green areas. Currently, the area is dominated by parked cars, outdated equipment, and neglected greenery. Tadeáš Mima from the city's press office informed about this in a press release following a meeting of the city councilors.
The city council today approved the investment plan. They will revitalize not only the park but also the adjacent sections of the neighboring streets Božetěchova, Kollárova, Chaloupkova, and Rostislav Square. "Against the current layout, we plan to eliminate the service road that runs through the middle of the park. This will expand the green areas within it and in front of the nearby post office, creating a continuous space with a pedestrian promenade. New street furniture will also be added," said Deputy Mayor René Černý (ANO).
The repairs will complement the planned reconstruction and construction of a sewer line in the same locality. The estimated investment amounts to 77.9 million koruna. The city estimates that project planning will begin next year.
