Vrchlabí (Trutnov Region) - The Administration of the Krkonošsko National Park (KRNAP) is looking for a name for the Krkonošské Center for Environmental Education. The new building, costing approximately 90 million crowns, is expected to be completed in Vrchlabí, Trutnov Region, by September 2013. The administration is also requesting the public's cooperation, as informed by Jakub Kašpar, the deputy director of KRNAP Administration, today. The center has so far been referred to by the abbreviation KCEV. "KCEV is a useful working abbreviation, but it is not very functional as the name of the future center for environmental education," said Kašpar. Therefore, the park administrators are looking for a name that will relate to the theme of ecological education, will be precise, or will carry some kind of story. "We invited all our colleagues to think of a name for KCEV, and the first suggestions are already coming in. We also want to ask the public from the Krkonoš area and beyond to contribute," said Jan Hřebačka, the director of KRNAP Administration. Proposals, which should include reasoning for the chosen name, can be sent by people until February 29 to the email [email protected]. The KCEV building, which will rise next to the park administration, will offer a lecture hall with a capacity of 80 people, a library, a classroom, exhibition spaces, and social facilities. In addition to ecological education for youth, the center will also offer programs for visitors to the Krkonoš Mountains and will be available to municipalities and other partners. Colleagues from the Polish Krkonošsko National Park will also be able to use the building. The construction is supported by the European Union.
