The three-day festival Hello, Design! will offer fashion and art

Prague - This weekend, Prague will welcome a new festival of fashion and applied arts. The inaugural edition of the Ahoj, Design! event will offer not only clothing from young Czech designers, seminars, music, stylish furniture, and jewelry, but also a refurbished steamship that will serve as a floating gallery in the future. The three-day festival on the banks of the Vltava River will kick off on Friday afternoon and continue until Sunday evening.
According to the festival's website, the event expands the cultural activities of the nearby (A)VOID Gallery, which occupies unique spaces on the riverside. In addition to contemporary art, it aims to provide visitors with various cultural activities, primarily focusing on design in all its forms—be it collections from innovative Czech designers, fashion accessories, porcelain, or products from small independent publishers.
There will also be site-specific design installations on display, and a range of musical performers will provide entertainment. Among those confirmed are Holky v lese - a band consisting of Johana Švarcová from the group Kazety and Markéta Lisá from the Czech electronic band Midi Lidi.
The weekend program will also feature theater performances, including those for children, an exhibition titled Contemporary Italian Plastic Chair, a fashion show, a floating flower market, and discussions with Czech architects—such as Jakub Fišer and Petr Janda, who is the author of the new design of an old paddle steamship from the 1930s that will serve as a floating gallery in the future. "The 60-meter vessel, loaned for gallery operations by the Prague Steamship Company, will provide facilities for the inaugural edition of the festival in its raw state," the festival's website states.
The inaugural edition of Ahoj, Design! at the riverside under Rašínovo nábřeží will start on Friday at 3:00 PM and offer a packed program for the next two days, always until 9:00 PM.
