Pardubice - Two investors are interested in the vacant lot near the summer stadium in Pardubice. They want to build a smaller hotel with around one hundred beds. The method of sale will be decided by the city council in September. This was stated today by Deputy Mayor Helena Dvořáčková (ANO).
The city will approve the principles of the sale, which will also include the right to build for six years. The city hall will select the investor who offers the most for the right to build and at the same time proposes the highest price for the land.
"By then, the hotel should either be completed, or at least under construction, and the investor could request an extension of the deadline at that time. Only then would the land be sold to them," said Dvořáčková.
If the winner of the competition does not build the hotel within six years, the money for the right to build will remain with the city. After that, the city hall can offer the land for sale to someone else again. The conditions will not specify exactly what the hotel will look like, but it should be at least a four-star hotel with approximately 50 rooms. "The amount for the right to build and the land will likely be recommended to us by a court expert," Dvořáčková said. The city does not yet know what amounts for the right to build and the land are relevant in this lucrative location. According to a tourism study, the city would need hotels of that size, about four, the deputy mayor added.
Pardubice is preparing modifications to the entire area around the summer stadium and the modernization of the sports facility. They will enlarge the area for spectators and expand the sports fields in the complex; the football field will meet the requirements of the first league. Training fields for athletes and the public will be created in the vicinity. The hotel will probably be the only private investment; the parking structure will most likely be built by the city or its contribution organization.
