Pardubice - At the end of September, representatives of Pardubice will return to discussing the repair of the summer stadium after five months. The discounted and less extensive project will be on the agenda for the city council and then for the representatives. Helena Dvořáčková, the deputy mayor, told ČTK.
"We are preparing an amended version of the project for the council and representatives; the streets U Stadionu and the waterfront will not be renovated, only the stadium. We are budgeting the entire project at 430 million crowns, but this is based on prices from 2018, and in 2020, when we plan to start the investment, construction prices may be different," Dvořáčková said.
The summer stadium, built in the 1930s, is in a state of disrepair, and part of it has been a cultural monument since 2016. The costs and scope of work have changed during political discussions, reaching over 630 million crowns with surrounding modifications, later dropping to 530 million. The council postponed the project in April due to concerns about it.
At the same time, the coalition is advocating for the construction of a parking garage with a capacity of 300 to 400 spaces at the summer stadium. For the summer stadium to meet the parameters for the first football league, it must also have enough parking spaces; 200 are missing in the vicinity. The parking garage could be built on the current parking lot for both the winter and summer stadiums. "The remaining spaces would be for the public," Dvořáčková said.
