Boskovice (Blanensko) - Boskovice in Blanensko are looking for a company to build residential buildings with at least 216 apartments in the area behind the hospital by 2017. The city wants to negotiate the project with seven companies that have shown interest in it in the past. The winner will be selected by the city by the end of this year. "This will be the largest residential development in the post-revolution history of the city. It is estimated that the project will cost about 300 million crowns,” said today to ČTK the mayor of Boskovice, František Sivera. According to him, it is now up to the contacted companies to propose how the new neighborhood with residential buildings in the area beneath the Boskovice hospital could look in the future. The selected company will then have six months to develop the construction project in detail. The city hall is willing to bring all engineering networks to the selected location. The newly built apartments will either be sold into private ownership or managed by newly created cooperatives. The city hall wants at least 40 apartments to be built within four years. "We desperately need apartments. There is already a high demand for them. We are building an industrial zone that could provide jobs for a thousand to 1200 people. Many of them will certainly want new housing,” added the mayor.
