In Chomutov, a new cinema will open in September

Chomutov - At the beginning of September, a new cinema with two halls will open in the Chomutov district of Zadní Vinohrady. It is part of a new cultural center that the city has built for 139 million crowns, and the city is now taking over the construction, said Petr Chytra, the head of the department of development, investments, and property at a press conference today. The city received a European grant for the construction, which covered more than half of the costs.
    The larger cinema hall has a capacity of 220 seats, while the second is approximately half the size. According to Chytra, the cinema is equipped with 3D technology, which also allows for satellite reception of various live broadcasts. In addition to films, various concerts and other cultural events are expected to be screened here.
    However, the exact date for the opening of the cinema, which the residents of the city named "Svět" in a poll, has not yet been established. It is said to start screening in the course of September when the cultural season begins.
    The cultural center is not just a cinema. It also includes facilities for staff and three clubrooms that several non-profit organizations will use. There will also be a billiards club and a bar available. The construction of the center included a new heat exchange station and parking for visitors.
