Třebíč - In May, the repair of Martinského náměstí and surrounding streets will begin in Třebíč. Five companies competed for the contract, with an estimated value of over 56 million crowns. The city hall selected the contractor who will carry out the work on Martinského náměstí, in Hassková and Kotlářská streets for about 43 million crowns (excluding VAT) through an auction. The locality in the wider city center will be repaired by April next year. This was stated today by Třebíč's Deputy Mayor Miloš Hrůza (ANO).
"The winner of the contract was the company Sobos. The original highest bid was just over 54 million crowns, and through the electronic auction, it was reduced to 42.9 million crowns," Hrůza said.
According to him, work will begin on Hassková Street, which will be impassable due to this. The work will continue south towards the Church of Saint Martin. The repair of Martinského náměstí will be completed next year. At the same time, the company will work on Kotlářská Street, which connects Karlovo náměstí with Soukopova Street and Martinského náměstí for pedestrians.
The city council also approved the selection of construction supervision for about 368,000 crowns and a contract with the Vysočina Museum in Jihlava for a rescue archaeological survey worth 1.2 million crowns, which will precede the street repairs. Discoveries of the remains of a cemetery around the church are expected, as well as remnants of the Vienna Gate, which once protected the city from the south but was demolished before the mid-19th century. In deeper layers, archaeologists may encounter the basements of some houses.
In addition to Třebíč, the overall costs will also be contributed to by the Water Supply and Sewerage Association. The repairs will cost Třebíč more than 30 million crowns. Engineering networks will be changed in the streets and on the square. There will be new lighting and paving of roads and sidewalks, which will be wider on Hassková Street. There will still be parking on Martinského náměstí, but the overall number of parking spaces will decrease.
