Třebíč – The Vysočina region has started the Vysočina UNESCO Triangl campaign. It aims to support the attendance of monuments in Třebíč, Telč, and Žďár nad Sázavou that are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Through brochures and a website, it offers information about historical attractions, nature, accommodation, and cycling routes. Today, Zdeněk Navrátil, the director of Vysočina Tourism, announced this in a press release.

"It will guide visitors through the individual towns and recommend places that they should definitely not miss during their journey. In addition to the main UNESCO monuments, it also offers tips on other tourist destinations, accommodation options, gastronomy, relaxation, and interesting spots around these significant sites," said Navrátil regarding the brochure, which is available for free at tourist information centers.

The key monuments are the historic buildings in the center of Telč, which were added to the UNESCO list in 1992, the pilgrimage church of St. John of Nepomuk on Green Hill in Žďár nad Sázavou, included as a World Cultural Heritage site two years later, and the Jewish Quarter in Třebíč with the area of the Basilica of St. Procopius, which has been on the same list since 2003.

The cycling route that connects these monuments is over 200 kilometers long. It is recommended for an eight-day journey with stops at places such as the Jihlava Zoo or Roštejn Castle. It also includes sites where interested parties can recall the traditional handcraft of glassmaking, which was added to the UNESCO list as intangible cultural heritage in 2023.

The Vysočina region regularly allocates 350,000 crowns from its budget to cities with UNESCO monuments. This contribution is intended for promotion, marking, and maintenance of the areas around the monuments.
