Olomouc - The preparatory work, the ceremonial opening, and above all, the creation of the exhibition of the Archdiocesan Museum in Olomouc is commemorated by the documentary film "To Glory and Praise," which is now being completed by the documentary filmmaker Theodor Mojžíš from Prostějov. The approximately fifty-minute film will be broadcast by Czech Television, but it will have its premiere today at the place of its origin - the Archdiocesan Museum. A shorter version of the documentary will be used to promote the museum, Mojžíš told reporters today.

"The documentary was created because the entire preparation of the Archdiocesan Museum was a unique event in the history of modern Olomouc. I think that a project of such significance has not been here for a very long time," Mojžíš stated. The documentary was developed over the course of a year and captures the events from the construction of the Archdiocesan Museum, the renovation of the spaces, to the actual exhibition and exhibits. Viewers can see not only everything that is in the museum but also, for example, the preparatory and restoration work.
According to Mojžíš, filming the documentary was a significant challenge. The buildings where the museum is located have a rich history that could not be overlooked. The filmmakers often worked in demanding conditions, with filming taking place in twenty-degree frost being no exception. In the editing rooms of the Prostějov studio Video Theo, the filmmakers processed approximately eight hours of recorded material. A special version of the film in Czech, German, Polish, or English will also be available on DVD for museum visitors for 100 crowns.
The Archdiocesan Museum was opened last June. In ten months, more than 56,000 visitors have viewed its permanent exhibition. The museum presents all artistic fields from Romanesque art, Gothic, through Mannerism and Baroque to Rococo.
