Ostrava - The former health school in Frýdek-Místek will be transformed into a four-star hotel within a year. The building was acquired by the Prague company EuroAgentur Hotels & Travel from the city at an opening price of 11 million crowns. This company owns a network of nearly 40 hotels and ten restaurants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, according to today's Právo. The new owners likely do not need to worry about good clientele and occupancy, as the arrival of the Hyundai car manufacturer and other investors in the region has created a high demand for quality accommodation in Frýdek-Místek. The investor wants to preserve the historical appearance of the building while also meeting the demands of more discerning clients. After reconstruction, the hotel is expected to have 32 rooms, according to the findings of the newspaper. The three-story building of the former health school was acquired by the city last year free of charge from the region. Originally, the private Jan Amos Comenius University in Prague wanted to move into the building, but ultimately abandoned its intention. The city then unsuccessfully tried to auction the property three times, and it was only the fourth auction that was successful.
