Pardubice - The East Bohemian Museum in Pardubice will close the exhibition on the nature of Eastern Polabí, the numismatic exhibition, and the cabinet of coins and medals of Zdeněk Kolářský in three weeks. They are located on the second floor of the castle, which is scheduled for reconstruction next year, the museum announced in a press release.

"It is necessary to prepare the spaces for the reconstruction of the castle. We must clear the halls where we will be renovating the floors and stone elements. After the reconstruction is completed, we will create a new tour circuit Welcome to the Pernštejn Courtyard," said the museum director Tomáš Libánek.

A new numismatic exhibition will be created within two years, to be located in the castle's cellars. The museum will place the nature exhibition in the economic buildings, which it also plans to renovate.

"Despite the temporary restrictions, I am deeply convinced that it is worthwhile for us to limit our exhibition activities for some time and fully focus on the upcoming reconstruction and the preparation of new exhibitions,"
stated the deputy governor Roman Línek (Coalition for Pardubice Region).

In the nature exhibition of Polabí, the museum presents the landscape of Pardubice through models, photographs, and sounds. The exhibits are both in display cases and outside of them. The numismatic collection is located in the Renaissance halls with intact coffered ceilings from the 30s of the 16th century.

"Most of the exhibited items are part of an extensive numismatic collection of the museum, which is among the few largest public collections of this kind in the Czech Republic," added Libánek.
