Benešov - The chateau in Načeradci in the Benešov region, which the state is offering for sale, did not find a buyer even in its fourth auction. No one showed interest in the property, the spokesman for the Office for the Representation of the State in Property Matters Radek Ležatka informed ČTK today. Another auction is expected to take place in the spring.

"In today’s round of auction, no bids were received. We expect to announce another round around March," Ležatka stated.

The previous three auctions experienced a similar outcome. The state initially demanded at least 22 million crowns for the chateau. In subsequent attempts to sell, the price was reduced to 19.8 million, 18.9 million, and finally to 17.9 million crowns. The château was taken into state ownership two years ago from the Sedlec-Prčice children's home as unnecessary property. No state institution showed interest in it, which is why it is being offered for sale.

The two-storey building with a simple facade and the adjacent English park are a protected cultural monument and are located in the center of the town. The park is adjacent to an orchard and a former vegetable garden and nursery, which still has preserved greenhouses and a staff house where part of the interior has been reconstructed.

Although it has not been used since 2015, according to the office, the chateau is still in relatively good condition. In 1987, craftsmen repaired the roof, interior spaces, engineering networks, and the facade. In 2000, the boiler room, heating, and air conditioning were reconstructed.

The chateau was built in 1734 by František Josef of Starhemberg. Until the end of the 1970s, the complex served as a children's home, then it housed a boarding school and later a reformatory.
