Bílina - Railway workers will repair the dispatch building in Bílina in the Teplice region. The architecturally valuable station from the 1960s will be made barrier-free after the renovation. The costs are estimated at around 78 million crowns. Dušan Gavenda from the Czech Railways Administration informed ČTK about this.

The Czech Railways Administration has recently announced a tender for the contractor. The construction will be financed, among other things, from a European Union grant. The project includes a complete reconstruction of the dispatch building, which reflects elements of the so-called Brussels style. It is characterized by the projection of geometric elements into the exterior and interior of the building. According to the Czech Railways Administration, the entire building will be insulated while preserving the original architectural expression.

The most significant change in the interior will be the installation of an elevator that will connect the hall with the underpass and the upper floors. "The public restrooms will also undergo renovation; at the same time, barrier-free toilets will be added, and a bike storage facility will be established," Gavenda stated..

The start of construction work is expected this October, with completion planned for the end of next year.
