Valašské Meziříčí (Vsetínsko) - Zlín Region will build a new building for rescue workers in Valašské Meziříčí. Medical professionals are currently located in rented spaces, which are inadequate, especially in terms of facilities for individual crews and vehicle maintenance. The new building will be constructed in the area of the Valašské Meziříčí hospital by the middle of 2009. The construction will cost 26.4 million crowns, said the regional councilor for health, Bronislav Fuksa.

"The emergency medical service will get adequate space so that the Valašské Meziříčí and Rožnov areas will be more easily accessible in this regard," he added.
Zlín Region will also build appropriate facilities for rescue workers in Uherský Brod this year, with construction costs amounting to 17.5 million crowns. The city management provided the land for the building free of charge to the region. Here too, the rescue workers are located in rented spaces within the polyclinic building, which also lacks garages. As a result, ambulances park outside, which often led to failure to meet the fifteen-minute response time, especially during quick departures or in winter.
A new station will also be established in Bystřice pod Hostýnem in the Kroměříž region in the future. Rescue workers currently reside in a building that the previous owner has sold and now wants the ambulance service to vacate. The city has already transferred the land where the new facilities should be built to the region free of charge. "The investment department is currently preparing the project documentation. Construction could start next year," the councilor specified.
Next to the T. Baťa Regional Hospital, a regional center for emergency medical services is currently being constructed, which is expected to be operational by September. The investment will require 80 million crowns.
