The Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague warmly invites you to a series of lectures by British architects, urban planners, engineers, and landscape architects, Best of British. The lectures will take place from November 6 to December 4, 2014, always at 6:30 PM at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague-Dejvice.
The series will kick off on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 6:30 PM in the Gočár lecture hall (room no. 155) with Joe Morris, one of the founders of the young yet successful London architectural firm Duggan Morris Architects. Their projects received five awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) between 2010 and 2012. For Kings Grove, a brick house in South London, the architects were nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2013, granted by the European Commission and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation for contemporary architecture.
The lecture series is organized by the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University with the support and under the patronage of the British Embassy in Prague, and offers students of the Czech Technical University and the general public a unique opportunity to personally engage with the current state of architecture and design in Great Britain. Admission to the lectures is free.
