The creation of the Sudetenland province and the annexation of border areas to Germany also manifested itself externally through architecture. The distinctly ideologically tinted National Socialist architecture represented an extraordinarily effective instrument of political propaganda and had two main positions.

The first represented an idyllic regionalist trend, primarily intended for residential buildings, while the second was monumental neoclassicism represented by the works of Albert Speer and Ludwig Troost.

In the context of the lecture, we will become familiar with selected buildings from this period and will also explore unrealized visions for the reconstruction of Liberec, the capital of the newly established province.
