Between Houses
or How Artists Play with Architecture?
How do contemporary Czech visual artists of the younger generation perceive architecture and how are they able to reflect it in their works? What is their relationship to space, houses, or urbanism? Is it just a game with architecture or is the solution critically addressing the work of architects and designers? How can this perception influence or inspire architects? The lecture is part of the 17th International Festival of Contemporary Art 4 + 4 Days in Motion.

The Civic Association Circle has been organizing public events and lectures focused on current developments in architecture since 2001. The goal of the lectures and discussions is to facilitate a dialogue on quality Czech and world architecture and architectural creation to a broader public - i.e., beyond the narrow circle of experts and architecture students. The Circle has already held more than a hundred lectures by prominent and emerging Czech and foreign architects and architectural theorists, two film festivals on architecture, and the exhibition Profession: Architect. It regularly publishes collections of Texts on Architecture. The Civic Association Circle is also the initiator of the nationwide festival Architecture Day, the second edition of which took place this September.
