The lecture will follow the book launch of Ostrava Interiors, which took place on December 16, 2011, at the headquarters of the Fiducia club and antiquarian, which published the book as its first publishing project. Its author, Martin Strakoš, will focus in his presentation not only on the interiors included in the book but also on those that, for various reasons, did not end up in the book or no longer exist. Interested parties will see a number of archival shots and photographs taken by photographer Roman Polášek for the aforementioned project, primarily in 2011. Using examples of interior design from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, the transformation of Ostrava from a small-town environment into a metropolis with a number of preserved remarkable interior spaces of both well-known and lesser-known buildings will be documented.
