At the beginning of March, after long-lasting repairs, the Tugendhat villa, a famous functionalist villa and a UNESCO World Heritage site, was reopened. The architect Miloš Solař from NPÚ, who participated directly in the villa's restoration, will discuss the fate of the house and the course of its reconstruction. It will take place on April 16, 2012, at 6:00 PM in Judith's Hall of the Club Za starou Prahu, Mostecká 1, Prague 1. Admission is voluntary.

Ing.arch. Miloš Solař was born in 1964 in Prague. After high school, he studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University (1982-87). He graduated from the studio of Doc. Karel Kibic. After school (1987), he joined the then Center for State Heritage Care and Nature Protection in Prague. Between 1988-89, he completed a one-year basic military service in Litoměřice. After returning from the army, he worked as a heritage restoration officer in Malá Strana. Since August 1998, he has worked at the Central Office of the National Heritage Institute. He specializes in the care of historical settlement units and the restoration of historical architecture. Aside from his direct professional interest, he attempts to promote interdisciplinary cooperation and collaboration with civic initiatives. He is a member of the Club Za starou Prahu, ICOMOS, WTA, collaborates with the heritage section of UHS, works with the AXIS studio on organizing the “Heritage Restoration” conferences, and with the STOP organization.
