Fresh Fruit and Archtung cordially invite you to a lecture by the Spanish architectural studio:
LANGARITA–NAVARRO: TEMPERAMENTAL SENSE OF DETAIL
"We always strive to work in the context of innovations; we ask ourselves new questions and try to answer them in different ways. From an economic standpoint, we might consider that we are undertaking a process of downsizing because we aim to never repeat the same solution. This is our fuel that drives us to a very high level of perfection. For us, this is vital, certainly demanding, but important."
Maria Langarita and Victor Navarro have been a duo of the young Spanish architectural generation since 2005. With their specific approach to creation, they enrich each of their concepts of diverse scales with a handwritten temperamental sense of detail. Both studied Ph.D. at ETSA Madrid, where M. Langarita teaches, and V. Navarro, with experience from Harvard’s design school, simultaneously teaches at Universidad Europea de Madrid. Their work has earned them several international awards, such as a special mention for emerging architects at the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe for the Red Bull Academy of Music project, and also the ar + d Prize for Emerging Architecture (2012), along with several national awards, including the Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennale Award (2013).

SINGULARCH: Langarita–Navarro (Madrid, ESP)
20.11.2019 / Pistoria Palace – Štefánikova 25, Bratislava

Before the main lecture, a traditional format titled HOW DOES IT WORK? will take place under the subtitle "Practice Beyond Borders." How different is architectural practice in another country or on another continent? How to choose a good internship? Can a Slovak architect build a foundation on the foreign scene? Practice beyond Slovakia represents many different paths. From internships involving the creation of physical models of thousands of versions of one building, to the deadline of a skyscraper's realization project in one month, or creating one's unique concept, architects encounter a different culture and mentality of society. After absorbing these experiences and freeing themselves in another environment, architects, whether through short- or long-term return to their home country, bring a new wind in diverse scales and spheres of architecture. Among these architects are the discussion guests Martin Mikovčák, Peter Hubinský, Marián Stanislav, and Igor Marko.

Lecture in English.

SINGULARCH is a series of lectures in the field of architecture and urbanism, extending into interdisciplinary spheres. The aim of the project is to bring the issues of shaping our environment closer to us, not only from architectural and urban perspectives but also psychological and sociological. The main intention of SINGULARCH is to present proven and effective practices from around the world and showcase unique projects directly from their creators. The format of the lectures and discussions is intended to benefit the professional public and architecture students, educating everyone, as well as being the first step toward a certain change and generating interest in events in our country. Since 2012, architects such as Ronald Rietveld (Rietveld Landscape, Amsterdam), Kersten Geers (OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, Brussels), RAUM (Nantes), FALA (Porto), Bureau B+B (Amsterdam), FAKT (Berlin), RAAMWERK (Brussels), CIRCOLO-A (Genoa), TAB (Vienna), Toni Gironés Saderra (Barcelona), ORA (Znojmo) and KOSMOS (Moscow) have presented. We are very pleased that in 2019 our third invitation was accepted by the studio Langarita-Navarro (Madrid). We believe their work will be inspiring for all of us.
